Innovation and the Future of the World of Work

Guilherme is from the state of Roraima, is a PhD student in Technology and Society at the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) and coordinator of the Youth Committee of the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation. Master in Modeling of Complex Systems from the University of São Paulo (USP), he began his academic career with a bachelor's degree in Science and Technology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Currently, he works as Innovation Manager at Hospital Pequeno Príncipe.
He is a member of the Global Shapers Community, a World Economic Forum (WEF) initiative for leaders under 30 years old, and is one of 50 young people from around the world selected to participate in the WEF Annual Meeting 2024 in Davos. He was also a fellow of the Science without Borders program in the Department of Physics at Clark University, United States.
Guilherme understands that science, technology and innovation are essential for developing scalable and lasting solutions to the major challenges society faces today. In this sense, throughout his academic and professional career, he seeks to contribute to ensuring that science, technology and innovation effectively enter Brazil's development equation.
He is the youngest observer of Science20 (S20), the G20 Science and Technology engagement group, led by the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. At the beginning of 2024, he was the only representative from the Southern Hemisphere (and also the youngest) in the debates on “The Disruption of Research and Development” during the 2024 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, together with leaders from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT ), European Research Council and Nature magazine. In 2023, he traveled to discover India's innovation ecosystem through an 8,000km journey aboard a train, visiting 10 cities in 14 days, together with 450 entrepreneurs and innovators as a delegate of the Jagriti Startup20 G20 Yatra, on the occasion of the Presidency of India in the G20.
